Transportation engineering is a sub-discipline of civil engineering which deals with the application of technology and scientific principles to the planning, functional design, operation and management of facilities for any mode of transportation in order to provide the safe, rapid, comfortable, convenient, economical, and environmentally compatible movement of people and goods (transport). The planning aspects of transport engineering relate to urban planning, and involve technical forecasting decisions and political factors.
Production engineering is a combination of manufacturing technology, engineering sciences with management science. Production engineers work in the sphere of manufacturing, overseeing the production of goods in many industries at factories or plants. Their main job is to ensure that all products are manufactured with utmost efficiency and quality, according to planned protocols using the appropriate technology.
Mining
engineers ensure
that underground resources such as minerals, metals, oil and gas
are extracted safely and efficiently. Typical job responsibilities include:
assessing the feasibility and the potential for commercial benefit of new
sites, ascertaining extraction risks.
Aerospace
engineering is
the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft. It has two major and overlapping branches:
Aeronautical engineering and Astronautical Engineering. Avionics engineering is similar, but deals with
the electronics side of aerospace engineering.
Aeronautical-
is the science or art involved with the study, design, and manufacturing of air flight capable machines, and the techniques of
operating aircraft and rockets within the atmosphere.
Astronautical-
is the theory and practice of navigation beyond Earth's atmosphere.
Aerospace engineers typically specialize in one of two types of
engineering: aeronautical or astronautical. Aeronautical engineer are involved
primarily in designing aircraft and propulsion systems and in
studying the aerodynamic performance of aircraft and construction materials.
Automobile Engineering is a branch of engineering which deals with
designing, manufacturing and operating automobiles. It is a segment of vehicle
engineering which deals with motorcycles, buses, trucks, etc. It includes
mechanical, electrical, electronic, software and safety elements.
Automotive engineers are concerned with the development of passenger cars, trucks, buses, motorcycles or off-road vehicles. They do one or more of the following: Design new products or modify existing ones. Troubleshoot and solve engineering problems.
Rubber engineering is branch of engineering that deals with the processing of latex, natural rubber or synthetic rubber to transform them into useful products is known as Rubber Technology. This subject of study includes the types of rubbers, their properties and descriptions of formulation of rubber compounds.
Plastics engineering encompasses the processing, design, development, and manufacture of plastics products. A plastic is a polymeric material that is in a semi-liquid state, having the property of plasticity and exhibiting flow. Plastics engineering encompasses plastics material and plastic machinery. Plastic Machinery is the general term for all types of machinery and devices used in the plastics processing industry.
Rubber & plastic engineers collaborate with industries and research
organizations and work on Product Design.
A
big challenge for plastics engineers
is the reduction of the ecological footprints of their products.
Ceramic engineering is the science and technology of creating objects from inorganic, non-metallic materials. This is done either by the action of heat, or at lower temperatures using precipitation reactions from high-purity chemical solutions. The term includes the purification of raw materials, the study and production of the chemical compounds concerned, their formation into components and the study of their structure, composition and properties.
Nanotechnology ("nanotech") is manipulation of matter on an atomic, molecular, and supramolecular scale. Nanotechnology is widely seen as having a great potential to bring benefits to many areas of research and applications. The application of nanotechnology in the field of health care has come under great attention in recent times. Using nanotechnology, quicker and much cheaper treatments can be developed. The drug can be targeted to a precise location which would make the drug much more effective and reduce the chances of possible side-effects.
Marine engineering technology and techniques are used to create cruise ships, oil platforms and harbours. Marine engineers are skilled individuals involved in the design, construction and maintenance of vehicles and structures used on or around water.
Information and Communication Technology is the Engineering Branch with a mission to
provide a wider perspective on the nature of technology, its use and
application to the living world. Engineering is not only about the
experimentation and learning. It is about the impact it has on the society.
Information and Communication Technology has been the branch of Engineering
that humans have used all through the evolution process for being the most
advanced creature on the Earth. Moreover developing countries try to improve
their lives and gain a competitive edge using Information and Communication.
Mechatronics is a multidisciplinary field of engineering that includes a combination of mechanical engineering, robotics, electronics, computer engineering, telecommunications engineering, systems engineering and control engineering. Mechatronics' aim is a design process that unifies the principles of mechanics, electronics, and computing to generate a simpler, more economical and reliable system.
Textile Engineering is the science that deals with all activities and methods which are involved in the process of textile manufacturing. It contains the principles, law and scientific techniques which are utilized for development and manufacturing the textile fabrics and all type of yarns. It also involves the study of principles of science that deals with the analysis of polymers involves in the formation of textile fiber.
Environmental
engineering system is
the branch of engineering concerned with the application of scientific and
engineering principles for protection of human populations from the effects of
adverse environmental factors; protection of environments, both local and
global, from potentially deleterious effects of natural and human activities;
and improvement of environmental quality. Environmental engineers study the
effect of technological advances on the environment. To do so, they conduct
studies on hazardous-waste
management to
evaluate the significance of such hazards, advice on treatment and containment,
and develop regulations to prevent mishaps.
Petroleum engineering is a field of engineering concerned with the activities related to the production of hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Petroleum engineers design and develop methods for extracting oil and gas from deposits below the Earth's surface. Petroleum engineers also find new ways to extract oil and gas from older wells.
