¢ Home Science:
Home science is the science of a home and it includes all the things
that concern the person, home, family members and resources. It is the
education for "better living" & making a home beautiful, through
the efficient and scientific use of resources to improve human environment,
family nutrition, management of resources and child development.
B.Sc. Home Science is a professional course of three years duration. It
covers the various fields of science like nutrition, health and growth
measurements. B.Sc home science offers many specializations and accordingly one
can choose higher education option or find employment. Some of the
specializations are nutrition, clothing, family relations, home management,
child development, etc.

¢ Botany:
Bachelor
of Science in Botany is an undergraduate degree course for three
year’s duration. The course includes studying the various aspects of plants
including the structure, growth, reproduction, metabolism, diseases, chemical
properties, physiology of the plants and plant anatomy in. This is a
specialized branch of biology which deals with the scientific study of plants,
algae and fungi, from their basic cell structure. It includes various
approaches to the scientific discoveries and also involves many practical

management, also known as “foodservice management”, is

nutrition personnel such as cooks and
dietary aides(works in food preparation).

Sericulture, or silk farming, is the cultivation of silkworms to
